Up-date on Meeting with the Dean

Dear All Final Year Students (BAcc Epsilon, Delta BBAs,BEc,BKM)

Please be informed that the meeting with the Dean tomorrow, Wed, 8 Mar 2006 will be held at 2.15pm, and not at 1.15pm as announced earlier.

The venue remains the same.as below:

So lucky for me, some of my friends told during morning classes that the meeting was at 2.15pm and not 1.15pm. Whoopeedoo, I can lepak at EMiNA's GACC booth for an hour, the ONLY time I'm free today (minus time spent for lunch).

So we just focus on the meeting here, ya? We went there at 2.15pm, only to see Prof Leo sitting outside the locked exam hall. Fine. We had to wait. About 10 minutes later, the guard came and opened the door so everyone rushed in. Bunch of kiasu's. Everyone is rushing to get the front back seat of the hall. WTF? Lol they must have predicted it to be freaking boring. Majority of the attendees were my classmates since it was for final year students.

The air cond was only turned on when the hall was opened so it was rather stuffy for the first few minutes. And Prof Leo started his talk about how some stuff in the uni has changed and some procedures and some exam stuff. His talk lasted for 5 minutes. Then, he proceeded to hand out Dean's Lists for Trimester 1 & 2 to those nerds deserving students. As usual, the first few who went up was accompanied by some clappings. After Smart Student No. 5, everyone's hands were either sapped out of energy or they got glued together. The hall became noisy with chattering and what not. The "ceremony" lasted for about 1 hour and 45 minutes and finally when it's done, Prof Leo calmly said, "That's all for today. Thank you for coming."

What happened to this?

Agenda:
a) Briefing by the Dean.
b) Q and A session.
c) Dean's List certificate presentation.

I don't mind if they have nothing to say but I DO MIND that they call us final year students to attend it, what more BAcc Epsilon students to attend it. We were conducting our industrial training for the first two sems for crying out loud! And even if there are those who came back to take some papers in the 2nd sem, there is not enough credit hours for one to obtain a Dean's List. So I'm seriously disappointed and pissed and how they asked us to come (and what more, specifically addressed to final year students) but there's NOTHING AT ALL which is related to us.

I can't believe I wasted 2 hours for nothing when I could be... erm... doing something better than sitting there. Anything I do would not be as lame as sitting there hearing names being called where 50% of the name owners do not turn up.
