I freaking woke up at 5am. 5 freaking am you hear me? Not like I had much sleep cos initially I was 'supposed' to sleep at 12am latest.... but guess what time I slept? Lol. Somewhere about 3am >_< !!!!!
Rick called me and didn't let me sleep!! ROFL >"< I even sent an sms to
Lai Ching telling her how I'd die the next morning (cos my mum found out I was still awake when she accidentally woke up at 2am =P )
So anyways... Got ready (and did some early morning last minute packing cos I did not complete my packing the night before hahaha) and left house at 6am. The van that fetched us went and picked up a few more people from
Bukit Beruang and then headed to
Semabok to fetch my grand uncle and aunt.
I slept (or tried to sleep) during the journey to
LCCT and I think I did manage to sleep a little bit. We arrived at
LCCT at god knows what time, my parents bickered as usual dealing with the flight tickets and what not, and then we went and grab a little breakfast. Damn freaking expensive! Urgh... why do airports have to burn our wallet so much.
The flight was good, I slept of course. Landed and greeted by our tour guide and a HUGE bus. You know those 40-seater buses? But there were only 12 of us so we practically could get a seat empty beside us for our hand luggage or just for more comfort. I obviously sat alone, as did most of them but 2 married couples sat together.
The first place we went was for lunch. FOOD!!!!! And damn it was good. Yum yum. You know me and tours. If the food is bad, everything else is bad... like my
Bali trip. So this was a good start for me. ^_^ As they say, the way to
Lase's heart is through her tummy. Lol!
So the bus brought us to some places. Don't ask me what I saw along the way or where we went cos basically I was sleeping for the most part in the bus. It was that obvious till the tour guide asked me "What if I asked you questions about my explanation of KK (
Kota Kinabalu) ?" I simply replied "Hehehe... " with a dorky smile XD
I am lazy to edit the pictures and make it brighter. Sue me =P
Awwwwww.... don't they look sweet in almost matching outfit? :>
This is a picture taken from the bus, while it was moving, zoomed in A LOT. Pretty clear eh? Muahahahaa.... image stabilizer ftw! Was trying to get pictures of the waterfall, and that is KK (
Mount Kinabalu yo~!).
We then headed to
Rose Garden, where we were all given a stalk of rose each as a welcoming gift. XD I had 5 cos it's for my parents, myself, my grand uncle and aunt. No pictures sadly... cos they all turned out ugly (I was ugly in the picture anyways so I decided NOT to show). Here are some few pictures of the
Rose Garden:
I so love love love love love this one. The mix between red and white for the flower is simply beautiful (to me)
Beauty (flowers) and the Beast (me... duh!)
I swear these are called creepy crawling worm flowers/plants
National flower with a different color tone, and very nice picture imho
Cactus Garden
My favourite photo of the flower bunch cos... like the way the photo turned out XD
After Rose Garden, we were brought to our accomodation which was some chalet kind but hotel kind but single houses kind. I have no idea how to describe lol. To get to the place we had to WALK up a steep and long slope (cos the bus can't drive up due to the narrow road) and I helped carry my mum's bag so it was TIRING~! Almost dead when I reached the top, and then I ran back down (after dropping the bags) to help my granduncle and aunt only to find out the tour guide helped them with their luggage. Meh. So it was double the workout for me =P
The room was nice, there was no air cond because it was kinda cold there, being somewhere up on the mountain range. I was in the same room as my dad cos my bro didn't join us this trip, hence my mum was sharing the room with her friend. Not sharing pictures of the room cos (a) I look ugly (b) It was me being dorky with my dad lol.
That night we had steamboat for dinner. It was pretty decent (although I love the one in
Bangkok more) but there was not much for me to eat. Why? Cos there were sooooo many types of veggie. Yuck! So it was mostly soup, noodles and a few pieces of fishballs. Oh, and I took 2 eggs too. That's about it.... nothing of "quality" which I ate, but I was full and rather satisfied cos the soup was good and my egg was yummy.
That's it for Day 1. Went to bed after watching Formula 1 on TV (stupid
Raikonnen can't overtake
Hamilton pfft pfft) and drinking some
Sabah Black Tea provided in the room free of charge. Zzzzzzzzz....
