Week 1 - A Week In Melaka (Part 2)

ZOMG Finally the post some of you've been waiting for! LOL I know I'm a bad bad bad bad bad blogger who has procrastinated for more than a month. Sowwy T_T

Wednesday - 24 September 2008

3rd day of closing. That means I have my CLD Reports to do and the cycle count for that old lady at work to cover. I kinda predicted I was going to be back a little late, and coupled with the fact that I've not had dinner at home for the past 3 days, I told my mum I'd have dinner at home today. Kinda don't want her to be suspicious. So I told Ben to find his own dinner. I know, I know, I feel bad doing it but I did promise to meet up after dinner.

So some time during work I had a missed call and an SMS from Pao Ying. I kinda smuggled my phone in for this week cos I didn't have access to bring in my handphone. Pao Ying came back to Melaka for her brother's wedding last week, and I've tried contacting her then but she didn't reply my SMS. Turns out she wasn't using that number anymore after she went to UK to study. Came back and bought a new SIM card just to use it while she's back (and probably going to let it die off when she heads back to UK and buy a new one the next time she comes back lol) so she was just contacting me to ask me if I'm free to meet up.

I asked her if she wanted to meet Ben and she was excited about it. So I asked Ben if he wanted to meet up with Pao Ying. I knew Ben wanted to meet as many of my friends as he could while he was here, so he agreed for sure. We decided to head to the Air Keroh McDonalds Drive-Thru so I can pick Pao Ying up along the way. After all this time I still remember where her house was... after taking a few wrong turns XD What's kinda non-economical though was driving to Equitorial to pick Ben up, then driving all the way back to Air Keroh to pick Pao Ying up and then head to McD. For those who dunno the area, imagine this....

Ben -------- My house ------ Pao Ying ------- McD

So travelling from my house to Ben to Pao Ying (which passes through the road towards my house) and then to McD is non-economical on my mileage XD But it's not like I get to meet either of them often so it was worth the drive.

Me right before we left the hotel to meet Pao Ying

So we arrived at McD and had ice-cream. None of us felt like eating anything solid so Pao Ying had a sundae while Ben and I had Oreo Mudpie McFlurry... damn was that chocolatey! And Ben paid for them too wewt! Either dinner or the McFlurry or the combination wasn't agreeing to my tummy though.... so I was kinda in pain bearing the pokes in my tummy while trying to keep my composure and smile and talk. It was a good night out... for me anyways. We talked a lot and did some catching up of what's been going on with our lives, Ben seems comfortable talking to Pao Ying too so there wasn't much awkward moments, although I did get a few stares from people there, and there was the upset tummy. But other than that, I enjoyed the night a lot. We left about 11pm and due to my non-economical-but-worth-the-drive route, I reached home almost at 12am.

Pao Ying and I at McD

Thursday - 25 September 2008

Thursday was a simple day for us. There was my Balance Sheet Reporting to be done for the closing but I got it done rather fast and was out of the office by 6.30pm. Today's plan was simple for dinner. I'll call Ben when I leave the office and he'll go to Pizza Hut and grab some pizzas for dinner. He had beef pepperoni, I had hawaiian tuna. *throws an evil smile at Evilyn*

I also requested for some chicken wings cos Pizza Hut has really good chicken wings. I thought there was only one flavor which was the normal one but turns out there was a spicy one too, and cos I didn't tell Ben I wanted the normal, he bought the spicy thinking I'd like it. It's good that he did cos I've never tried it, and it was just as delicious. Trying to be healthy FTW~! The hotel supplies 2 bottled water daily so we just drank that and not some sugar-filled carbonated drinks.

After dinner we watched a movie. Ben brought a portable DVD player and 5 DVDs so we could watch them if there was nothing to do during our trip. Being the forgetful person he is *giggles* he forgot to bring the cable to attach the DVD player to the TV so we ended up having to watch the DVDs on that mini screen on the DVD player. We watched Corpse Bride cos it was one of Ben's favourite movies, and I've never watched it. It was quite nice, except some parts which scared me. And the dead dog is SO CUTE!!!!! Well it was a skellie-dog and it was SO CUTE cos its head was so round! And you guys know me and cute round things XD

Friday - 26 September 2008

So I took today off, mainly so I could pick Ben up during lunch to meet up with Doris and Mei Yin. Cos if I didn't there was no way I could drive to Equitorial, pick him up and head back to meet up for lunch and then drive all the way back to send him back to the hotel. So I left my house at 12pm cos I didn't wanna be late, and cos I told Dorin I'd try to be at the carpark a little before 1pm so she could meet Ben before she left to pick her daughter up from school.

Sadly there was a MASSIVE traffic jam on the road in front of Dataran Pahlawan Mall. It took me SO LONG to get to the hotel, I made sure Ben was waiting outside of the hotel. Nearing the hotel, it was still a bumper-to-bumper crawl with the traffic so I told Ben I wasn't going to turn into the hotel lobby and that he should just jump into my car while I'm slowly moving through the jam. The jam was due to construction work in the area, and cos it was a Friday and that was just after school hours so there were parents and school buses picking these school children up.

After we finally got out of the traffic jam it was about 12.45pm so I rushed as fast as I could to pick Doris and Mei Yin up. Ended up not being able to meet Dorin cos it was past 1pm when I arrived to pick Doris. We headed to Thong Sui House for lunch and Ben was SO WEIRD. He ate his rice with a fork and left his spoon on the table. He ordered some sliced up fried chicken meat with egg and vege and rice and he ate them all with just the fork. Sheesh! He'd take the rice with his fork, and dip it in the sauce provided. I saw quite a few grains in the saucer holding the sauce when he was done with his meal. Tsk tsk tsk!

Was going to take him for the river cruise or to the zoo but we were both kinda tired and the weather was so hot we decided to just enjoy the cool air conditioning of the hotel. LOL. So we just ended up talking while waiting for dinner time. Went to McDonalds for dinner and that's when I found out that it's FREAKING EXPENSIVE since the last time I've been to McD. A meal per person costs more than RM10! What happened to RM7 gets you a burger, fries and a drink? So we got dinner, went to shop a little at Dataran and got some facial masks cos Ben wanted to try it since I occassionally do it. So we went back to the hotel and became ugly mummies! LOL I'm not gonna post the picture although it's hilarious (yes, Ben went and took a picture of himself with the mask on).

We watched another movie, The Princess Bride, before calling it a night. Tomorrow's the day we start our road trip so we need our proper rest. To be honest I was quite tired and I didn't really pay that much attention to the movie to remember much about it now, but I did kinda enjoy it when I was watching it. I enjoyed Corpse Bride more though.

Week 2 - Road Trip (Port Dickson)

Blogger? Clogger?

Have you ever heard of a clogger? I know I haven't and the first time I heard the word 'clogger' was when I was watching So You Think You Can Dance (Season 2) and what flashed through my mind was someone dancing in clogs (you know those wooden shoes worn by the holland people I think). But it's faaaar from what I thought, and it's really very cool. Either that or the guy who danced it (Brandon) made it look really cool. Don't mistake it for tap though, clogging is really different from tap. It's really interesting and so interesting to me, that I've taken time to upload a clip of Brandon clogging away. Enjoy :)

PS: So yeah he's also cute too which is a bonus XD XD XD

PSS: I totally forgot that the week was almost over cos Evilyn didn't go grinning about how I'd not keep my resolution this week so I kinda forgot a little =_=

The world isn't safe anymore....

The world is getting more and more dangerous by the minute. And with the recent economy crisis, it makes it even worse. My mum told me of a robbery which happened 2 days ago in my Taman (English: Neighbourhood). The robbers were armed with parangs (English: machete) and guns. They entered from the kitchen window and the maid was the first to saw them. They threatened the maid and asked her to point to where the owners of the house are. They then tied everyone in the house and proceeded to ransack the place, taking anything they found to be worth something. And all this happened at 8PM! It wasn't even close to midnight! What's worse is that the police took SO LONG to get their butts to the house after they were being informed. Then there was another story about the robbers forcing the house owners to lock themselves up in the toilet while they ransacked the place.

Question is... will these robbers actually kill to get what they want? Is the gun just to scare or will they actually use it? Are the weapons just means of scaring the owners of the house and they treasure their life more so they'd let the robbers have what they want? What if someone were to actually fight back? Would they scare the robbers instead? Say someone who knows martial arts faced against them. Would they shoot the gun? Does knowing martial arts actually help you in any way against criminals? Look at this... a champion of Karate meets a robber in his house who's pointing a gun towards his head. Will he fight or will he just follow what the robber says?

If I had a wish, it would be to eliminate any violent thoughts in everyone's mind. It's general but think about it... if there are not violent thoughts there would not be war (so indirectly it's also for world peace) and there would be no criminals running around making people live in fear. To be honest, with my imagination (which can be explosive sometimes it works against me) my life does get scary sometimes. For example, one night when my parents and brother were out and I needed to hang the clothes out to dry. I had the back light on but I was freaking scared. I was constantly looking at the back door to make sure no one sneaked in while I wasn't looking. At the same time I was scared stiff if someone would just jump out of the dark and kill me. And also at the same time, I needed to hang those damn clothes. It was totally freaking me out seriously, that once I'm done I grabbed the basket (used to put the washed wet clothes in) and ran indoors and locked the doors.

I think the world needs a superman. Who's with me?!

WoW players have no life

So.... everytime WoW players talk to each other and one starts waving their epeen (that means trying to show off... I think lol) they'll start linking shit to show that one is more uber than the other. Sad to say, some of them bring it off-game too.... here's an example:

A: I didn't do cooking this morning cos laaagggg :(
B: Shush I didn't do it either cos you were sick and I didn't want to disturb you in your room
C: Oi you two slack a bit lah so I can catch up. At 22 Dalaran Awards now.
A: HAHAHA.... 38!!!!!!
B: [Pengu]
A: [Vampire Bat]
B: [20 Exalted Reputations]

Or in another context, people do emotes which link to each other. The common ones would be something like:

A: /hug
B: /kiss
A: /smile
B: /grin
A: /happy
B: /dance

Those kinda normal ones. And then the same waving epeen shit comes in where one wants to be better than the other.... so stuff like this happens:

V: 4k attack power
L: Pfft haxed
V: 1446 DPS lol (note: this was at level 70 and not 80 lol)
L: 30k armor :p
V: 6k evis
L: 7k ferocious bite :p
V: Stun lock
L: Self heal
V: Expose armor

You get the point. It's just human nature I guess, that one doesn't want to see himself/herself as being less uber than another. That's where you get all the kiasu people who won't help you with your studies, who only care about bettering themselves and even to the point where they actually do stuff to make others worse at whatever it is they want to be better of.

I still remembered when I was a lot younger and there were someone who didn't want to teach me the proper technique of playing a sport because she didn't want me to be better than her and subsequently steal the limelight (and whatever trophies) from her. When all I wanted was just to be able to play better and not like... not know how to decently play. Oh well....

I kinda got side tracked from my initial post lawl XD Well I got a question for my readers. A vote actually but since I suck and don't know how to put up a voting pole thing.... I'll just ask here: Do you want to see baby pictures of me? XD

A New Year, A New Blog Post, and A New Haircut

To the utmost joy of my mum, I decided to cut my hair. She's been complaining that she's sweeping my hair everywhere on the floor.... but meh that's how long hair is. A strand is obviously more obvious than a strand of short hair which is like 8 times shorter. That means for every 10 strands of hair I drop, some other person in my house (or my parents and brother combined) needs to drop 80 strands of hair. And even if they do drop that many strands, shorter strands don't clump up and bundle together to form a little ball-nest of hair on the floor (usually found in corners if the floor isn't swept for more than 2 weeks). So it's always me whose hair is found on the floor and it's always my long hair my mum nags about.

I frankly wouldn't mind shorter hair if I didn't spend money buying clips and pins and chopsticks and scrunchies and all those hair stuff. It'll be cool if I could like change hairstyles whenever I want like those celebrities. One day with extensions, one day curly, one day bald, and then hey there's a wig! So yeah anyways, since Chinese New Year is going to come soon, and cos I know my mum will nag more at me as it approaches CNY to cut my hair, I figured heck let's just do it now. Especially when I had a week off from work.

So taaadaaaaaa......

Old hairstyle: Long makes my face longish. Love this picture taken after my hair's nicely blown with a hairdryer :D

New hairstyle: People say I look younger but it makes my face more chubby T_T

And for the record.... I had 4 people telling me yesterday (Monday) that it's the start of my first week for my new resolution to post more than 2 blogs a week. Meanies! :p
