The long awaited post..... finally
/Is patriotic
Finally.... I can post. Dammit wanted to post yesterday but WHY CANNOT??? Why must blogger be down everytime I wanna post? Damn sickening, no?
First and foremost, HAPPY MERDEKA DAY~! Holiday~! Fireworks~! (at least I heard some sounds) Errr.... holiday~! And it's been 48 years since our independence but the growth is damn freaking slow. +_+ Still, happy 48th year of independence, Malaysia.
On to a less patriotic (hey, I still have the flag on my car) and less boring (I sincerely hope!) post....
Bon Odori 2005
This would probably be the last year for me to go to Bon Odori by a bus trip. T_T Wonder if people can smuggle me in next year even though I'm no longer a student. :p Else, I might consider crashing GK's house with Videl next year nyehahaha....
Anyways, back to this year's trip... We headed out in the morning as usual, to a shopping complex. This year it was the same as last year - Berjaya Times Square. The difference was that, this year we "landed" at Berjaya Times Square but I did not proceed in. Instead I followed others to Low Yat Plaza and Sungei Wang. There was nothing much for me to buy at Lowyat so I just window shopped and surveyed the price of some CDRs. The only thing I did wanna buy was a convertor kinda thing for my hard disk. You see, I got no more IDE slots available and my extra hard disk (which I wanna add into my PC) is ATA. Gah. That's why I was trying to find the convertor from SATA to IDE so I can get that extra 40GB. Nyehahaha.... finally just before leaving Low Yat Plaza, Jin managed to find one for me. But... It costs a FREAKING 89 bucks (about there.. can't really remember the EXPENSIVE price ^_^;; ) With that money, I might as well buy me an external hard disk casing thingie, right? It's cheaper, and it's portable. Hence, I left Low Yat Plaza empty handed. Oh wait, not exactly empty handed. XD Li Sa introduced me to Papa Roti's Mexican Bun so I tried and yeap, it was delicious. ^^ The expression of Li Sa's face when she got her bun was priceless. Looks like a small kid who just got a new toy + someone in love. Hahaha... seriously, it was a one-in-a-million expression. Off to Sungei Wang we went.
First thing we did was find a place to eat. We decided to eat at Teppanyaki and I ordered chicken teppanyaki. It was quite nice but a tad salty. Still, it was a new experience for me and before you ask, yes... I wasted money on it cos I only ate the chicken and touch none of the vege. :p So sue me. Li Sa and Jin helped me finish the vege though. XD Oh, and speaking of Jin, he actually ate like... urm... 6 or 7 small saucers (err... not really saucers but I dunno what to call them) of some chilli sauce. Yeah, I admit it was really nice (the chilli sauce) but to eat like 7 is crazy, no? Last I heard he did not have any stomach ache so it's fine. ^_^;; 7. 7.... 7!!! Crazy. So there I was enjoying my meal and we took some pictures there also which came out pretty nice. Err... lazy to upload and post here so if anyone wants, go find them youself at http://emina.mmu.edu.my :p Just a note of caution, the files are rather big and there are A LOT of them. Oh, and I also had some so called Japanese ABC (named Fuji Snow) which had some weird taste in it which would probably be some herbs to me. ^_^;; Overall it was ok but the ABC at Lim Tian Puan would score higher on my list, plus it's 1/2 the price I paid in Teppanyaki. Double satisfaction XD
Stomach filled, time to shop. I did not plan to shop anything for myself (mostly wanna shop for cosplay stuffs) cos of the time constraint and also cos I assumed no one wanna go to those shops. Hoping to be able to go there alone one day (if I can gain permission to go to KL alone that is +_+ ) just to shop on my own. Back to the post... we headed to some hand phone shops cos Li Sa wanted to get a new handphone and also to SunComics to browse at figurines, manga and posters. And some other merchandise also. Wanted to get an Itachi keychain for GK (since I'll be seeing her at Bon Odori) but the keychain was so cacated that I ended up not buying it. Gomen ne GK-chan. Needing to change into my yukata, I kept looking at the watch and then a few of us split up from the group to head back to Times Square. Visited Borders with Shu Yin and Nazrin (who later disappeared to meet up with Edo, Lisa (Edo's gurl, different from Li Sa), Khurshid & Shafiq I think). Went browsing with Shu Yin till it was time for me to head to the ladies. It was so hot in there and I had a phone call in there and also the floor was so wet that I was so scared my yukata will get wet and yucky (cos a yukata is a very long garment). Thankfully with some skills and hard work, I managed to wear the yukata and come out of there, with eyes staring. Into the heavenly air-cond... ahhhhh.... Avoided some stares and waited for the bus to come. Boarded the bus and we are off to Bon Odori~!
O.K. Here is where I went and meet A LOT of people rather than enjoy the festival itself. Even then, I did not manage to meet a few friends. First thing we did when we reached there was finding Otter and other Cyber peeps. A lot of talking and standing and deciding... and we went and got ourselves some shaved ice. By we, I mean myself, Shu Yin and Nikki. It (the shaved ice) was.... ok ok only lah. Won't say it's THAT special. We did not finish eating so yeah, it kinda got lame after a while. My tongue turned blue though. :p Met some CF people, took photos with some of them.... and yeah, without fail, there are cosplayers each year. This year, sadly, I knew one of them. It's not that I don't like them or am ashamed of them, but... I will still diss cosplayers who cosplay at Bon Odori and yeah, basically I can't exclude her even though I'm her friend. So if any cosplayers do read my blog, please lah for heaven's sake... do not think that just because it's a Japanese festival, it is ok to cosplay. The festival is to pay respect to the deceased for crying out loud. Here you are showing off your costume and having fun. I mean yeah, we have fun, but at the same time... respect a bit also lah, k? So take note all cosplayers who read my blog... do not cosplay at such events, k? And no, I don't hate you... you're still my friend. :) Back to what we did....
Squeezing through the crowd is a normal thing. God it's so cramp there but... we still managed to get ourselves some dinner. Since almost everyone knows I don't really take Japanese food, I did not buy any there. Instead, my dinner was 3 pieces of chicken from a Jaya Jusco stall (I think). Pretty sad, I know, so shuddup. Shu Yin and Nikki bought themselves some curry rice which smells delicious but is mostly filled with vege so you can guess why I did not buy it. :p My chicken was very nice in fact (not that sad anymore, right?). I expected it to be edible but not enjoyable, but it made me crave for more... though I did not grab anymore. Nikki brought a plastic bag (those black tong sampah ones) and we tore it to the middle, and spread it out on a small "hill". Nice view, good food, 3 friends eating. It was fun. Next year if I go, I'm gonna bring more bags so each of us can sit on one.... hopefully they go next year so we can do all those stuffs again... the 3 of us really naughty. Not gonna mention about the naughty stuffs of course cos... hehe... secret lah. Which reminded me... Shu Yin not yet pass to me the naughty pictures nyehehaa...
We participated in the last dance for the night... ah the good old memories it brought back, memories of my first Bon Odori. I still think that was the best (this time around being 2nd best). The first time dancing a Bon Odori dance, the first time eating some Japanese food (which I never dreamt of touching), the first time seeing Japanese ice-cream (which really made me surprised), taking pictures with so many Japanese people (adults and kids alike), the first time seeing those big balloons and wanting to buy one but got no idea how to get it in the bus (though Rizal brought one back to Melaka), counting the number of those big balloons flying in the sky (RM10 flying away~!), the first time seeing Masami in yukata and taking a picture with her, that was the first time EMiNA sent a bus there, collaboration with JLS. Everytime I go there now, it is for a different reason. Not only to enjoy the event, but more to meeting friends. It's not a bad thing, but it's not a great thing either. The first times are always the best I'd say.
All good things must come to an end. And so at about 10.30pm, we set out from Matsushita Sports Center, Shah Alam and headed back south towards Melaka. We talked a little in the bus, got a can of coffee from Jin (which does not taste so good actually, maybe cos it was not cold, and tastes a little weird), opened my present and felt all guilty and malu cos the present was soooo nice and personal and that was the FIRST time we met. Thanks so much Pablo. I feel so bad not getting her anything for her birthday. +_+ We reached back around midnight and all I could think of is driving home and getting a good night's sleep. As I was in EP, I got a call from Nazrin and the thought that shot in my mind was "Cis, this lazy fella sure want me to send him home." But later I found out cos he wanted to go pee desperately and he might not have made it if he walked (psst psst... longkang banyak :p ). I did not mind of course, so if you're reading this, don't take into heart, k? ;)
I reached home, took off my yukata and went to sleep. Yes, I did not bathe. XD Tired lah... gimme a break lah. :p Oh, and... lucky I wore a yukata cos the bus trip back was freaking cold. Yukata kept me warm. Ahhh.... *snuggles into self* Someday... if I still go to Bon Odori, I wanna try getting a proper obi (or the fake-but-real obi... err, that does not make sense, ne?)
A long lost friend...
I'm not sure of the date but Lai Ching treated me to a birthday dinner at Golden Mansion one day. The food was scrumptious yummy yummy. Especially the pork ribs (no offence intended to my Muslim readers) and the sharks fin soup. Yes, we had sharks fin soup which was delicious. I felt like an old lady there cos Lai Ching and Raelynne kept taking for me food like lah I don't know how to take myself. +_+ Make me feel like some grandma where the granddaughters take food for. Hahaha... they said I'm the birthday girl so have to be like this but... wa lau no need to kua chiong eh. (Note: kua chiong = exegerrated) Anyhows, we were stuffed at the end of the night and had a huge laugh thanks to the waitress who gave Lai Ching the wrong bill.
I thought we were gonna go home cos we're all so full. I thought wrong. They wanted me to eat a slice of cake (They did not understand the word full ka? >o< ). I'm gonna be so bloated, oh no. Anyways, we headed to Secret Recipe and guess who of all people I am to meet there? I saw a bunch of my high school juniors and was inclined to smile and wave but no one really looked. And then I spotted a familiar face and smiled (hand gesture in a wave-like form). Then I said to myself, "That's not someone from my high school. That's.. that's... Terry, right?" I spotted Raelynne smiling at him and just as we were seated, I asked her for confirmation. So it was. Oh my god it's been so long since I last saw him. He did not change a bit (in looks), he's still with the same face, with the same small build, but he does not look as weak as he did back in primary. XD Oh, I've not mentioned, right? He's my primary schoolmate (and classmate). So you can imagine all the memories just rushing in when I saw him. Those were the good ol' kiddie days. ^^ I was surprised he recognised me also and he joined our table (since he knows Raelynne) and we talked and talked and talked. And guess what? He's actually into anime, Naruto die hard fan to be precise. It all began when Lai Ching wanted to see his phone and then she saw a Sasuke wallpaper. He was shocked we knew who Sasuke was, and then he said he likes Naruto a lot. And he showed a moving image of Sasuke and then there was Rock Lee. Lai Ching does not know who is Rock Lee yet (I think) because she watched the dubbed Naruto over TV2 (I think) but I mentioned "Rock Lee also got" and he was kinda shocked (to find out I watch Naruto). Then he showed us a tattoo of Gaara, and called his brother over to show us a tattoo of Neji. Wa lau got crazy or not I ask you? Tattoo is permanent leh. Till old also into Naruto? Seriously a die hard fan man. His brother also recognised me. *terharu* We went on talking a little about downloading anime and the latest episode of Naruto (back then it was about 140 I think) and he mentioned he wanna cosplay Sasuke. O.o OMG!!!! Did he mention cosplay? And he said did cosplay a few months back in KL as Kankurou. I can be so lucky or not TELL ME LAH!!! First I met an old friend, found out he likes anime as well, then I found out HE COSPLAYS!!!! GAAAHHHH~!!!! *dies* So what if he only cosplay Naruto characters. To find a cosplayer in Melaka is so freaking hard you know? Anyways, we talked a little and I told him there will be an event in December where a huge Naruto group is forming, and I told him to check it out. He asked me whether I'm joining the group and I said yes, as Tsunade and he was like "Really? Cool. Then you dyeing your hair?" and then I said I have a wig and complained about the price and we talked for quite some time before I realised Raelynne and Lai Ching must have been pretty bored. Gyah~! Sorry sorry so sorry. Anyways, we exchanged contacts so I can inform him on any cosplay events and just to keep in touch also.
DEKIMASHITA!!!
